Chief Operating Office and General Counsel
Matthew Barnett serves as Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel for Sports Virtual Training Systems, Inc.. With over 20 years of experience as a professional sports executive and leading sports law attorney, Mr. Barnett, a former player and coach at Dartmouth College, also has a deep passion for the sport of football.
Since 2010 Mr. Barnett has served as President of 54 West Group, a sports agency, and a founding partner of CrushWave, a digital agency. Mr. Barnett has also acted as regular outside counsel to a number of sports organizations, including the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) and the Sports Medicine Research and Testing Laboratory, an entity formed by USADA and the National Football League.
Mr. Barnett began his legal career with Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom in New York and has also served as Deputy Commissioner and General Counsel for the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA). Mr. Barnett holds a Bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College, and a J.D. from New York University and currently resides in Colorado Springs, CO.
